Has that Fallout Fealing to it though its no Fallout October 29, 2009 Kevin Meade (CT USA) As has been noted by others, this game is oft compared to Fallout (the original series). It is not as good as Fallout, but it does have points in its favor. Graphics are better than fallout although we all know graphics only matter if the game itself is worth playing. Sound and music are not particularly enamoring but passable.
The more interesting points come from the following: 1) the game is I believe Russian made, or European made. In any event, it seems the dialog was translated which on occassion leads to some unusual conversations, 2) the game is turn based and like Fallout allows you to move around during combat so you can take advantage of cover etc. to try and employ some strategy in your battles, 3) the weapon/armor system offers a pleasing bit of variability so the game can stay interesting in that regard, 4) there is a plot which is to say, the main characters (you have two) have a goal, and there is history in the game world that you can learn about as you play.
If you are a Fallout fan, you might want to try this if only to see the foreign image of what Fallout might have been. It filled the Fallout void in my life while I waited for Fallout3.

The real story August 13, 2005 Alexander A. Werner 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
First off this game is not set in russia. Not even the cold war. Hell its not even set on earth. The game is however very much like fallout in that you have mutants, cyborgs, and a similar levelup system. However as of right now the game has many bugs but a patch is going to be released soon (already released in russia) that is reported to fix most of the bugs.
Well it's not Fallout... August 8, 2005 T. Dunckel (Upstate, NY) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Although it looks alot like it. Like Fallout the combat is turned based, but not nearly as easy to figure out. The manual lacks instructions and in fact cannot even be called a manual, but a quick start guide. The translation from I believe Russian to English is not the best. The voice acting is horrific and the constant use of swearing detracts from the game. Too bad they didn't put in the option to filter obscenities. There are alot bugs that hopefully will be worked out with an upcoming patch. Also, when first inserting the disc it took forever for the installation screen to come up.
This game is not all bad. There are many quests, albeit the fed-ex variety and once you get the hang of combat it can be fun. It is hard to get over the fact that it looks like Fallout but in no way compares to the enjoyment of that game. If you go into the game without comparing it to Fallout, mute it and just play it for what it is it can be a somewhat enjoyable and reasonably priced rpg.
Considering there are very little rpgs to choose from out there that focus more on role playing than combat this might be worth checking out, but you may want to wait for the patch to come out.
Metal Heart June 3, 2009 James Lane (richmond va.) This game does not have good enough grapics for me. My computer is more up to date. I am wanting better but it would be alright for someone else.
Only if you're really bored. September 8, 2005 A Gamer (San Jose) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I had high hopes for this game as I really enjoyed Fallout.
This game is not Fallout. The look is similar and some of the weaponry is interesting, but any positive qualities are grossly overshadowed by the horrid dialogue. It seems like a non-english speaker has created scripts that they think Americans (or other english speakers) will think are "cool". It reminds me of the Kung-Fu movies that have been dubbed in english but with more profanity and less intelligence and cohesion.
The quests were mindless and you can't interact with most of the characters. One quest involved leaving a building and retrieving an object that was placed right next to the door of the building you just left and bringing it back inside. That's it!
The story line is very linear as well.
I couldn't play it for more than an hour or so. You should only get this if you want to see an excellent example of a really bad game.
